Note: The qualifying cutoff is different from the admission cutoff. Qualifying NEET UG does not guarantee admission to a government medical college. Admission depends on rank, category, counselling, seat availability and the respective college/state cutoff.
Re-NEET UG 2026 Result and Qualifying Cutoff
The Re-NEET UG 2026 examination was conducted on 21 June 2026, and NTA declared the result on 16 July 2026.
Along with the result, NTA released the category-wise qualifying percentile and corresponding marks. Candidates who meet or exceed the qualifying criteria are eligible to participate in the counselling process, subject to other applicable eligibility requirements.
The qualifying percentile remains fixed according to the category, while the corresponding marks can change from year to year depending on the examination and overall performance of candidates.

Why Did the NEET 2026 Qualifying Marks Increase?
The qualifying percentile is determined according to the applicable category criteria. However, the marks corresponding to a particular percentile can change each year depending on factors such as the difficulty level of the examination and the overall performance of candidates.
Therefore, candidates should not assume that the qualifying marks will remain the same every year.
Qualifying Cutoff vs Admission Cutoff
It is important to understand the difference between the qualifying cutoff and the admission cutoff.
The qualifying cutoff is the minimum percentile and corresponding score required to qualify for the next stage of the admission process.
The admission cutoff, on the other hand, refers to the rank or score at which seats are actually allotted during counselling. It can be significantly higher than the qualifying cutoff, especially for government medical colleges and highly competitive courses.
Therefore, scoring 213 marks in the UR/EWS category or 177 marks in the OBC/SC/ST category means that the candidate meets the qualifying criteria; it does not mean that the candidate is guaranteed an MBBS or BDS seat.
